ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Followed by an illustrated talk Isleworth Then and Now by Christine Diwell - capturing the flavour of times gone by while comparing and contrasting Isleworth as it is now.

Isleworth 390 Project Update

Researchers have located the initial Isleworth connections of 352 of the 390 servicemen listed on the Clock Tower War Memorial. Current focus is on the around 98 who are known to have died in 1917.   A mini exhibition about the 82 servicemen known to have died in 1916 has been staged in Isleworth and Hounslow libraries. Two Events are Planned for Autumn 2017, the first on Friday October 6th at Isleworth Public Hall will be an illustrated talk by Andrew Robertshaw, national historian, broadcaster and educator ‘Eye Deep in Hell : The Soldier at Passchendaele 1917’. The other is to be a musical evening, date to be confirmed, with a performance by Robb Johnson, a British musician and song writer, including ‘Gentle Men’, about his two grandfathers, local West Londoners who fought in and survived Passchendaele. This will be sponsored by Bellway Homes.
